CLINICAL SHARINGS
"Clinical Sharings" are professional seminars led by colleagues on areas of special
interest to them, areas of practice expertise or advanced training. These presentations are generally 2 hours in length. There are no charges for CSWS-DE members. The
presenters are given a $200.00 honorarium. The Clinical Sharings are generally scheduled to follow our Board Meetings. We urge you to join us for both so you can see
how your Board works on your behalf and share your ideas.

CLINICAL SHARING
Imago Relationship Therapy and Creating a Conscious Partnership
Presented by
Sandy Weingarten, MSS, LCSW Friday, January 11, 2008 9:30 -11:30
Participants must arrive on time and attend the entire session for CEUs.
Wellness Community 4810 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807 302-995-2850 (directions follow) Handicapped accessible.
This presentation will look at couplehood in two of its unconscious phases: attraction to ones partner( and
activating the Imago) and the inevitable power struggle.
With a focus on creating safety, we will explore the effective skill called the Couples Dialogue, what it is, and
how it helps to set into motion the use of empathy and the process of differentiation within the system. If time permits, there will be a demonstration of this skill with volunteers from the group.
This seminar is appropriate for all post-masters level practitioners.
Learning objectives:
1. To familiarize participants with some basic concepts of Imago Relationship Therapy.
2. To activate an appreciation of what creates attraction within a couple. 3. To identify symbiosis and its sabotage to intimacy.
4. To create a deeper appreciation of what the power struggle is about and the potential for growth within it. 5. To be able to experiment and to utilize the first part of the dialogue process, called mirroring.
